Bethlehem is giving away 350 tree seedlings on Arbor Day. City residents can pick up the seedlings starting at 8:30 a.m. April 30 at City Hall, 10 E. Church St. The trees will be distributed one per person on a first-come, first-serve basis.

The trees include 100 sugar maples, 100 swamp white oaks, 50 franklinias, 50 pussy willows and 50 bald cypresses.

Also on Arbor Day, Mayor John Callahan will accept the National Arbor Day Foundation’s Tree City USA and Tree City USA Growth awards for Bethlehem’s efforts in promoting urban forestry through tree planting, education and community outreach.
